I am retired USAF. In 1965 I was assigned to Randolph AFB in the helicopter training program the first part of which was training in the T-28. We trained along with the Vietnamese -- they were in a separate squadron. I remember the ac well -- slow to climb to 10,000 ft with it's 805 hp Wright 7 cyl radial. They claimed that the extra 5hp came from the exhaust.
