It took Danny and I all of three hours today to remove all the parts and all the wood bracing, a forklift and a dock made it super easy. There were lots of little parts squirreled away in the fuselage and lots to clean up after the field mice!
I guess it's almost over, a year long project. Overall it was a great adventure, I have to say, it might have been my lifetime Warbird rescue experience. I always dreamed of doing this and I looked and I found one, I feel very lucky. Thanks to everyone for helping me make it happen, really, thank you, it was a 40 year dream come true. Thank you Philip.
My thoughts today as we pulled stuff out were back to Milton and Dennis, my hourly laborers that kicked in and helped make this stuff get home in one piece. I was worried for a week or so that I had forgotten to side brace the front of the 4 wing sandwich in front, we put tires in there, but I was worried. Well sure enough, we pulled stuff out around the tires and down on the floor was the brace, Milton or Chris must have put it in for me. I was so busy cutting boards I couldn't be up there. Really, no a thing got damaged. Thanks Labor Ready.
Now to get it home.

All cleaned out, a little dust snow!
